First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mattson Resources.
Technical Recruiter
I interviewed with the director of technical recruitment. I spent an hour answering questions with him, then spent another 30 minutes interviewing with some of his team members. After that, he gave me a personality test which I completed and emailed back to him. This was two months ago and I followed up with an email, but haven't heard back.
- Could you tell me a bit about yourself?
Administrative Assistant
After I sent in my resume and applied online, a recruiter called me the next day. She was really nice. Then, I had to fill out a lot of new-hire paperwork, like giving my driver's license and date of birth. After that, I met with the recruiter, and she told me about jobs I could apply for. Everything seemed good. I answered a lot of 'what-if' questions, and she said I'd get a call back. I waited for weeks, and heard nothing. I feel like even if I wasn't a good fit, they should have at least called or emailed to let me know, especially after I did the testing and paperwork. It left a bad impression. I'll definitely tell others about this bad experience.
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Desktop Support Analyst
The recruiter was very friendly. We discovered we were both military veterans, so we spent a good portion of the time comparing my military experience to see how it would align with the organization. After we got those details sorted, we continued to look for roles that would be a good fit for me.
- Can you describe your role in the military?
- What kind of work are you looking for in the civilian job market?
Project Manager
The interviewer was really thorough with their questions and helped me understand what candidates look for and how to answer them. I really liked the guidance they offered, and I wouldn't have found my dream job without their mock interview process.
- Can you share an instance where you successfully resolved a problem that initially appeared impossible?
