I had two 30-minute interviews. They were pretty laid back, and the interviewers were really nice. I heard back about the offer about one to two weeks after my interviews.

Behavioral Technical

After applying online, an HR Intern contacted me by phone, but I missed the call. She then emailed to set up a phone screening. I gave my availability, but there was a mix-up, and she called again when I was busy. We rescheduled for the next day. The screening was quick; the HR Intern explained the company's structure, the role's duties, and the job's conditions. She asked if I was okay with the conditions and if I wanted to move forward. We then scheduled an interview with the HR Rep for the following week. This first interview was quite strange. They asked many basic questions like 'tell me about you' and 'why do you want to work at Mattel?'. They mentioned the role mainly involved marketing analysis and then asked about my experience in that area, having me review my CV to highlight how I used analysis in past jobs. This felt odd for an intern role, which is typically about learning. Since I lacked extensive analysis experience, that's why I was keen on the role, so their focus on my experience was peculiar. They were also a bit rude, responding poorly when I asked for clarification. The interview concluded with them suggesting I contact them if they didn't follow up promptly, as their processes are lengthy. Unsurprisingly, I was ghosted, and the job was reposted on LinkedIn. My guess is if an intern position stays open for over six months, the candidates aren't the issue.

I had a Zoom interview with HR and the Marketing Manager. It was a rotational interview, and both interviews happened on the same day. Each interview was 30 minutes long. I mostly got behavioral questions, and I was hoping for more case study type questions. The interview was online, not in person.
