Merchandiser
This was a telephone interview. The headhunter reached out to me but was rude when my answers weren't what she wanted. She ended the interview by saying that if I didn't know the answer, I wasn't a good fit. It's a merchandising job, not a spy mission. I'm glad my time was wasted.
- What was the job you were leaving to accept this role?
Marketing Analyst
Applied in July and went through a super long interview process, with interviews weekly in August and results in September. Had 4 skype phone screens that were really professional and pleasant, the interviewers seemed to really love their jobs. The interview itself was pretty standard but friendly. They asked about my past experience and hobbies. Scheduling the on-site interviews was a bit of a hassle because I was relocating. The recruiter gave me options, but after I picked a date, they had to reschedule due to the panel's schedule. Then, right before I booked my flight for the rescheduled date, they pushed it back again. After waiting another week for a final schedule, I finally booked my flight. The on-site interviews went well and I liked everyone. Then, two weeks of silence. I emailed the recruiter with no response, then called and left a voicemail. Immediately after, the recruiter emailed back saying I was 'overqualified' and they chose someone else. A 2-month process with multiple delays just to be told I was overqualified. Big waste of time, really disappointing because I wanted to work there.
- What is your motivation for joining Mattel?
- Can you share your favorite childhood toy?
- Could you provide examples of marketing campaigns you've managed?
Brand Analyst
I had 2 rounds of interviews. The first round had 3 people I met with for 20 minutes each. The second round had 2 people, also for 20 minutes each. Everyone I spoke with asked good questions that were relevant to the job.
- Tell me about your greatest weakness.
