Creative Director
So the HR person cancelled my interview twice, like, on the day of the meeting. The second time was like 1 minute before, which was kinda wild. The first time she cancelled, I actually had to follow up a bunch of times to get anything going. After the second cancellation, she didn't even bother to apologize or reschedule, and I just didn't reach back out.
- When would you be available to start?
Director
The initial interview was scheduled and completed without issues. However, subsequent attempts to reach out to both the hiring manager and the head of people and culture for an update have gone unanswered. This company has a history of employee dissatisfaction, which seems to be reflected in this experience.
- Could you walk me through your career history?
Design Intern
It was a really quick and easy hiring process, I got the job in under two weeks. The interview felt more like a chat, where we went over my portfolio and past projects. They didn't really ask many typical behavioral questions, it was more about seeing if I was a good fit.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your work and portfolio.
Account Supervisor
The hiring process started normally enough. I first chatted with a recruiter about my work history, then spoke with a more senior team member who dug into things deeper. After that, I sent follow-up and thank you notes, which didn't get a response, but that's pretty common. A few days later, I reached out again to ask about next steps – still no reply. Recruiters are often like that, so I wasn't too surprised. Then, I got an email asking for my availability because they wanted to move forward with me! I thought that was a bit strange, given how they'd been ignoring me, and now it's been two weeks of complete silence. I've followed up twice since providing my availability and still haven't heard anything. If this was a mistake, fine, but at least acknowledge it? I was on the fence about returning to an agency, and while I'd heard good things about this one, I think I might be avoiding a problem. This whole experience makes me feel like they're just another typical agency that doesn't have much professionalism in the workplace.
