First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Matrix Technologies, Inc..
Engineer
I was hired as an Engineering Co-Op in August 2018. After applying online, an HR person contacted me for a phone interview. If that went well, I was invited for an on-site interview. This involved meeting with department managers for my specific discipline for 1 to 3 interviews, each lasting 20-30 minutes. They were primarily assessing my previous experience relevant to their department, how well I interact with people, and my potential to learn.
- Can you tell me about the work you've done previously?
Controls Engineer
The initial chat with HR, who was located out of state, went smoothly. Later, during the on-site interview, the recruiter mentioned they felt my handshake was weak. I personally don't like squeezing hands and don't see why that's a deal-breaker, unless they're trying to maintain an all-male team, which I have no clue about.
- Questions focused on customer service orientation.
Software Developer
It was a three-part interview process. I did an initial phone screen, then talked to the department manager over the phone, and finished with a video call. The people were great, and I enjoyed it, but it dragged on longer than I thought it would.
- Can you discuss the material that was given to you?
- Were the questions you were asked focused on the material provided?
Systems Analyst
The interview experience was not stressful. The HR team was very friendly and informative, making it feel more like a conversation. The process, whether remote or in-person, was quite straightforward and not too difficult.
- Can you describe a situation where you encountered difficulty with a task and explain your approach to resolving it?
