It's a pretty simple process. You start with an online proficiency test. If you pass that, you'll have an interview with the center director where they'll ask about your teaching philosophy and any experience you have with kids. Then, you'll do a mock teaching session to show how you'd teach a basic concept.

I applied online and then got an email to set up an interview time. The interview was on Zoom. They asked me typical interview questions like 'tell me about yourself' and 'why do you want this job'. After that, we did a mock session where the interviewer pretended to be a confused student. We worked through a percentage problem and an adding fractions problem.

The interview kicked off with standard questions about my interest in the position, my prior teaching experience, and relevant skills. It also included a math test covering basic math up to calculus, although a high level of math wasn't strictly required. Following that, I was asked to explain some fundamental math concepts, like 'what is a half?' and 'how do you find 30% of 250?', to gauge my ability to teach in the Mathnasium method or at least clearly. This is because they don't provide extensive training initially and expect you to start working relatively quickly. The interview process was generally straightforward and not overly stressful, largely depending on the interviewer. It began with a brief phone call (about 5 minutes) to confirm my interest and arrange an in-person interview (lasting 1 to 1.5 hours), after which I received a job offer.
