The interview process at Masterworks was a great experience. Most of the questions were standard and focused on my background and skills. At the end, there was a mock call with feedback, which I found very helpful and unique compared to other interviews.

I applied and got an email contact. Then, I was sent a take-home assessment/questionnaire, which felt like an interview itself because of the questions asked. If completed, it *could* lead to an interview. After that, the same manager contacted me to schedule an interview. During the interview, it felt like my resume or the questionnaire were ignored because I was asked questions that were either on my resume or already answered in the questionnaire. I was told about the office culture and role expectations. They also mentioned initiatives that weren't present and said they weren't important, which I found strange for an 8-year-old company. After the interview, I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week or early the next. That didn't happen. I sent a thank you email the same day and two follow-ups a week apart, but then I was ghosted. Given the trouble of a lengthy assessment, I expected more transparency, or at least an email if they weren't moving forward. The role is still posted.

So I had this one initial 30 minute screener call, they went over the basics of the position and why I wanted to make the career change. The second round was an hour long call, with more in-depth questions and also a 15 minute mock call. I didn't get the offer, but I didn't want to work there from the very beginning. I figured that if the job interviews were during work hours for my current job, then might as well see where it goes. Here's why Masterworks.io sounds like a DREADFUL company to work at: -8:50am-6pm daily schedule. Ew! It will be nighttime by then -COMPLETELY in-person role for a job that could easily be fully remote-imagine being confined to a cubicle all day, staring at life go by outside, with no hope for a remote Thursday or Friday, as you do the same thing DAY IN AND DAY OUT. -From what I heard, they probably discourage taking days off -MONOTONY. Once again, you don't actually get to close these leads. You are only responsible for cold-calling them to set up an initial appointment. Day in and day out...... Consider if you would be able to tolerate all of these above factors before accepting an offer (should you get accepted).

My interview experience with Masterworks was not great, I felt like my time was wasted. I had one initial screening call and then one call with the hiring manager. The screening call covered the role details, which was enough to proceed. I was given an assignment that I completed, which included stating my salary expectations. Then I had a call with the hiring manager, which felt disorganized, disrespectful, and put me on the defensive. After the call, I followed up about next steps and tried to confirm salary expectations, but they tried to lowball me. This was frustrating because I had already stated my salary expectations, and they couldn't meet them, yet they still continued the process. I'd avoid interviewing with them.
