It was a super chill chat with the volunteer coordinator. They asked me about my availability and what kind of jobs I liked doing. The whole thing took maybe half an hour, and then they set up a time for me to shadow another volunteer.

I went through a 3-step interview. First, I talked to the manager, then a lead physician in the area I applied for, and finally, someone I'd be working with. Good tip: bring extra copies of your resume, since not everyone who interviewed me had one.

The hiring process at Mass Eye and Ear is a thorough process to find great people. It starts with basic checks, then moves to tests of skills and several interviews with important people. Every part is meant to see if you have the right skills, if you'd fit in, and what you could bring to our well-known hospital.

The interview process went well initially. I first interviewed with the Manager and Assistant Manager. Following that, I had an interview with two staff members. Everything seemed positive, and it felt like a perfect fit. However, I never received any follow-up. I called to check in and spoke with the Asst. Manager, who mentioned I'd hear from the Manager. Unfortunately, neither the Manager nor HR ever contacted me. This isn't the first time I've interviewed with MEEI; in the past, I've also never heard back, despite my 35 years of nursing experience, BSN, Spanish fluency, excellent clinical skills, certifications (ACLS, PALS, TNCC, IV Therapy). It's their loss, and frankly, they are very disappointing as a potential employer. Shame on you MEEI.
