Product Engineer
I was initially excited about the opportunity to interview for Senior Staff Product Engineer role that seemed to fit my background. The interview started well, but it went downhill. During my interview with the hiring manager, I experienced dismissive and unprofessional behavior. I was interrupted a lot when I tried to answer questions and felt my responses weren't fully heard or explored. The manager even scoffed at my answers, especially concerning semiconductor testing. Despite my attempts to explain my skills, I was bluntly told I wasn't a good fit, with no useful feedback. The interview's tone made the whole experience awkward and gave me a bad impression of how they hire.
- Can you tell me about various tests used in semiconductor manufacturing and how to optimize yield?
- What are your thoughts on yield optimization in the context of different tests?
Systems Design Engineer
Had a phone interview that lasted about 30 minutes. Recruiter mostly asked about resume projects. Recruiter seemed happy and said they'd recommend me. Got an onsite invite about 10 days later. HR said the job needed analog design knowledge, but I focus on digital. So, I didn't do well in the onsite, only completing 2 out of the 5 planned rounds. The onsite focused heavily on digital design, like PLLs. So, passing the phone screen doesn't guarantee success, and this role wasn't a good fit, making the experience feel like a waste of time.
- Could you elaborate on your experience with PLLs?
CAD Engineer
I had a technical interview where they asked about my work experience and basic concepts. The technical recruiter was really cool and asked application-based questions and more about my work experience. The HR interview was super smooth, and they answered all my questions about the interview process.
- What are the factors that affect device degradation?
- Could you explain the AMS flow?
- Do you have questions about Cadence simulation?
