got an email from the interviewer asking for my transcript, then had a one hour interview where they asked me about Python, complex C problems, and computer architecture. The C problems were tricky. Didn't get an offer in the end.

Coding Technical

First, there was an online exam with some really tough aptitude questions and two easy coding problems. After that, I had an online interview where they drilled me on C, starting from the basics and going deeper. They asked things like pointer to function returning integer, pointer function returning pointer to function returning character, and also about malloc() and free() and how they work.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Could you explain what a pointer to a function that returns an integer looks like?
  • What about a pointer to a function that returns a pointer to a function that returns a character?
  • Can you tell me about malloc() and how it works?

I found out about this role through a recruiter for Marvell in Marlborough, MA. After I sent my resume, a manager scheduled a phone interview for me about a week later. It was pretty basic, covering C++ topics like pointers, inheritance, and virtual destructors, along with OS concepts like processes and threads, and some computer architecture stuff like cache, TLB, and virtual memory. A couple of weeks after that, an HR person reached out to arrange an on-site interview. They covered my travel to Boston and hotel. I had five interviews back-to-back, including one over lunch. All of them were technical, except for lunch. They had whiteboards where I had to solve problems or write code. The last one was with the team lead, who gave me a tour of the place after asking some technical questions. I believe a background check and offer followed.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Regarding the OS, what occurs when an interrupt is received?
