The interview was easy to speak, more like a conversation with the sales manager. It was very straight to the point and they wanted to know if there was mutual trust from the off. The GM pushed uncomfortable questions to test me under pressure.

Behavioral Other

The whole process was basically a typical CV and experience discussion, using old-fashioned interview questions, and it felt like they were trying to get FREE LABOUR. The pay is terrible, benefits are non-existent, and the company's reputation and culture seem really bad according to Glassdoor. It was just something to do while waiting for better opportunities. The recruiter talked a lot, barely letting me speak, and then went completely silent when I tried to follow up because I had other interviews lined up. The company's huge reported loss suggests they're struggling. They were never my top choice.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Was there an assignment given that seemed like an attempt to get free labor and steal ideas?

I went to a recruitment event where we had to take a basic maths test, then we were split into groups for a group exercise, and if you were lucky enough to make it to the second stage, you'd have interviews. The whole process felt poorly done. They didn't even look at the CVs sent before the event, and most people invited didn't even get spoken to directly because they didn't make the cut for the second half of the day. It felt like if they didn't like your face, you weren't getting to the next stage.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Did you complete the basic numeracy test?
  • How did you approach the group exercise where you had to work together to get past the problem of being stranded on a sinking boat with limited equipment?

Applied online then had a phone call and an email to sort out the time and confirm my interest in the role. The last step was an in-person interview with the manager and another team member. They had a set list of questions and my CV. After passing HR checks and 6 months of references from past jobs, I passed probation.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you tell me why you are interested in the automotive industry?
  • What makes you want this particular job?
  • Could you introduce yourself?
