First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Marketsmith.
Associate
The whole thing took about three weeks. Started with HR, then a manager interview. There was also a test, which wasn't too hard. I accepted the offer and overall it was a good experience.
- What makes you want to join this company?
Office Help
I met with 4 people in total across 2 separate interviews. The administrative assistant asked for my email, SS#, birthdate, and other personal information. After they checked my references, I didn't get a response, even though I was told I was highly recommended. I think HR should have been more involved. It was a weird process, and I have a bad impression of this company now.
- Was I asked if I had payroll experience, even though it wasn't on my resume or implied?
Marketing Intern
I had no idea what to expect, I met a lot of different people and wasn't even sure what the position really was other than "marketing intern." Made it through though, everyone was friendly but very professional, it was intimidating at first because of the atmosphere but I liked it
- There was an Excel test that was fine until the end, which proved to be a little difficult.
Marketing Analyst
I applied for an entry-level Marketing Analyst role at Marketsmith through my college's job portal and got a call back pretty quickly. A few days later, I went in for an interview where they asked me some questions like what book I'm reading and if I've ever solved a Rubik's cube. They also wanted to know how I'd use my college knowledge in marketing and if I was okay with long hours. At the end, there was an Excel test which could be tricky if you're not super familiar with it.
- What book are you currently reading and why?
- Have you ever solved a Rubik's cube?
- How will you apply what you learned in college to marketing?
