First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Marketing Instincts.
Marketing Coordinator
Got an email asking me to interview. I wanted a phone interview, but they wanted to meet in person first. I get it. They have a doorbell and lock the front door from the outside for safety, which I thought was cool. It means they care about employee safety, unlike my last place where the doors were unlocked, which always felt a bit sketchy. They took me to a conference room, and the lobby was also pretty stylish and modern. I saw a nice modern kitchen where staff were eating lunch and watching TV. Made me think I'd fit in! They asked a lot of marketing questions and why I quit my last jobs. Honestly, with the economy, I figured everyone was laid off, so asking that seemed a bit out there.
- Could you tell me about your greatest weakness when it comes to work?
- Is attention to detail a weakness you possess?
- Do you consider follow through to be one of your weaknesses?
Production Coordinator
The interview process was really fast. I applied online and got an email 3 days later for a 1:1 first interview. Pretty standard questions but with a twist. They sent me home with an email test. I had to write a mock email to a client about their project and explain how we had to change their shipping methods of their products to meet their event date. Can't remember the exact scenario but is wasn't that hard. I received a call 4-5 days after I sent the test email in and was scheduled for a 2nd interview. They offered me the position in the 2nd interview.
- What would you do if you made a mistake and could correct it without your boss finding out?
Accountant
You'll get a first call for an interview. You'll meet with a Supervisor who'll say they'll call you for a second interview, but don't count on it until you actually get the call. The second interview is with one of the owners. They might say you'll have a third interview, but again, wait for the call because they might just offer you the job instead.
- The job requires flexibility.
- You should also interview them.
- Inquire about employee turnover.
Corporate Recruiter
The interview process was smooth. I met with the management, and it was professional. Initially, there was a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview. Sometimes, they'd call me back for a second interview. Depending on the role, the interview could be up to two hours and include a skill evaluation. It was generally informative about the company and the job's responsibilities.
- Can you tell me about your experience, and specifically, can you elaborate on any skills you have that are relevant to this particular job?
- Tell me about your background and highlight any skills that directly apply to this role.
