The interview seemed pretty straightforward until the founder asked if I had read her blog. I had focused on researching the company's actual business due to the overwhelming info on their website, and I admitted I hadn't. She then proceeded to lecture me on the blog's importance. I was promised many things during the interview that ultimately weren't delivered, such as a monthly day off, encouragement to take holidays, and bonuses. This just goes to show you shouldn't believe everything a potential employer tells you.

I applied for the Machine Learning Engineer role at Robotic Marketer (which I later found out is a new name for Marketing Eye) through SEEK. The CTO emailed me directly to schedule a face-to-face interview onsite, skipping an initial phone chat which I found a bit unusual. The interview lasted an hour. A week after the interview, I got a generic rejection email from the CTO. I thought it was unprofessional, as I expected a call after a face-to-face interview.

They greeted me nicely and took me to the boardroom. We had a good chat about my portfolio and experience. It was way less stressful than other interviews I've had. Overall, it was a comfortable experience.
