Growth Manager
It was a 3 round interview process. First HR, then the team lead, and finally the hiring manager. The difficulty was mid level. They asked questions about my past experience and my knowledge of the business. Each interview was about 30 minutes and the whole process took about a week.
- In what ways does your background in sales relate to our business needs?
Accountant
So I started with a call with TA, then had a chat with the hiring manager, who I think was the Accounting Manager. It sounded like a small team with some consultants. The final interviews were with these consultants, which was kinda weird because they didn't seem to take it too seriously. I didn't hear back for like a month, so I followed up with TA. They got back to me in a couple days saying they went with someone else for this role, but mentioned they were looking to hire an Accountant/Bookkeeper and asked if I was interested. Honestly, the whole thing felt super unorganized and like a waste of time.
- Tell me about your experience with external audits.
Community Manager
I thought the team was really nice and the interview process went smoothly. My only critique is that I felt some questions were just asked for the sake of asking and didn't really give them a sense of who I am as an employee beyond what's on my resume.
- Have you ever built a team before?
Marketing
First, I had a screen with a product manager, and then another interview with a fellow marketer. The first one was okay, but the second one with the marketer wasn't great. We were on Zoom, but she didn't turn her video on, even though I had mine on, and she didn't say anything about it, which was kind of awkward. She was also pretty cold and curt the whole time. Plus, it was obvious she had a really different idea about whether you need to specialize in a specific part of marketing or use a broader approach, and she seemed to judge me based on that difference. It's just not ideal when people who might be competing for the same gigs are the ones interviewing potential candidates for those same gigs.
- Could you elaborate on the Product Management aspect you brought up?
