First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Market Traders Institute.
Marketing
I've interviewed four different times with this company because the recruiter thought I might be a perfect fit for four different positions. I had two face-to-face interviews in the same week at their Lake Mary location. The first one was with nearly the entire marketing department for an hour for a fairly simple position. Then, they brought me in again for another interview with two other marketing managers for another position they thought I might be qualified for. This company doesn't seem to care about your time. The phone call for the most recent interview was late, and the interviewer apologized, saying he was unprepared because he was leaving a meeting. He offered to follow up for an in-person interview but never did. Two days later, I got a generic rejection email for an interview that honestly didn't really happen. This company is horribly unorganized.
- How familiar are you with Google Adwords, on a scale from 1 to 10?
Sales Closer
Interview was very genuine. Questions were targeted more towards the core values of the company. Questions to see if you're prepared for a type of hardcore selling environment. They're you're average sales questions, what are you weaknesses and your strengths. I was able to be myself and really make an impact on the person that was interviewing. Make sure you are confident in answering the questions for the managers. They look a for a strong sales foundation to build upon and really soar in the position that you're applying for.

Demand Generation Manager
HR contacted me initially expressing interest and asked about my availability for an interview, which was scheduled very quickly. Upon arrival, I was given an employment application that seemed to be for entry-level roles. I was then left alone in a conference room for a significant amount of time before meeting one senior executive. He mentioned the other executive was unavailable but proceeded with the interview, asking basic questions and showing interest. He was evasive when I asked about the company's Glassdoor reviews. He promised an update within a week. After two weeks of no contact, HR was contacted for a follow-up. They indicated a decision was still pending but that they liked me. A month passed with no further communication, and my subsequent attempts to reach anyone were unsuccessful, leading me to assume I was not selected.
- What level of supervision do you require?
Senior Software Developer
I entered the building and went to the third floor where I met two people at the front desk. I had to fill out some paperwork, and we had a friendly chat. The office space on the third floor is quite large. I then went to the main conference room to meet with four people. The Sr. marketing person asked most of the questions, making it feel more comfortable. The VP was also present and very nice. They didn't seem to want to pressure me, possibly because I talked a lot. It was a really fun interview with some laughs, and at times it didn't even feel like an interview. They asked some technical questions about my background, including my experience with the SDLC, best practices for software development, and projects I've built. This technical part took up most of the interview, with some back and forth discussion. The technical person seemed knowledgeable, and the questions weren't too difficult, again, likely because I talked a lot. I tried to think of questions to ask them at the end, but I was so engaged discussing technology that I ran out of ideas. Overall, they were professional, personable, and had a good interview process.
- While developing the new application, how would you go about resolving issues in the existing legacy application?
