Assistant Manager
So, I applied for a cashier job and they promoted me to assistant manager after like 2 months, but the interview process was actually the same. The store manager basically just asked me a few questions, like why I wanted to work there and to tell them about a time I had a disagreement with a manager. Then there was also a math test with some retail math problems.
- Can you tell me what constitutes an acceptable attendance record?
Cashier
It was a simple and straightforward interview process, not complicated at all. They asked basic questions, and while retail experience is helpful, it's not a requirement. There was a basic math test involved. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing, including closed-toed shoes. Also, come prepared with your own questions. Good luck!
- Are you ready for a brief math assessment?
- Do you have any previous retail experience?
- What questions do you have prepared for the interviewer?
Cashier Sales Associate Assistant Manager
The Manager welcomed me and we went to his office. He asked pertinent questions, and I gave complete and truthful answers. My resume, which I had submitted, contained extensive details not typically requested on a standard application. I felt very at ease, and the Manager was quite friendly. I thought it went exceptionally well and was confident I'd get an offer. I never heard back, despite sending a follow-up. It would have been good to receive a response, positive or negative.
- What are your spiritual beliefs?
- Tell me about your personal testimony.
Customer Service Representative
I was taken to the back office and introduced to several people. I sat with one of the managers for about thirty minutes as we discussed the position. She was very nice and asked how I would handle different situations in a retail environment. She approved of all my answers, and afterwards she introduced me to the store manager.
- How would you handle an upset customer?
