First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Maple Street Biscuit Company.
Community Leader
It was a longer process, but I liked talking with multiple people. And I actually got to go to a store and work there to see how it was before committing. There were Zoom interviews, and I didn't have any in-person interviews until I went to the store.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your background.
- What are you passionate about?
Ambassador
The interview process was very casual and easy. They asked questions about gratitude and what it means to you. Also, they asked about you and your education. Just be honest and yourself. They want you to be outgoing and bubbly.
- What does gracious service mean to you?
Vice President of Operations
The whole process felt very impersonal, conducted entirely via email. I never spoke to anyone directly, despite seemingly reaching at least the third round. I confirmed the emailer was a real person via LinkedIn. I'd email follow-ups after each part, and a few days later, get an email expressing interest and assigning the next task. The final stage involved 21 essay-style questions, which took over an hour to complete. Some questions were so company-specific that they'd be difficult for an outsider to answer. It was odd to be asked about training on company core values without prior exposure. Overall, it was a disjointed and strange process. A few days later, I received an email stating they weren't moving forward, still without speaking to anyone. I think I dodged a bullet, as this interview process suggests potential issues throughout the company.
- Could you detail how you would onboard a new employee regarding our company's core values, providing specific examples for each value?
