I filled out an application online and then the store called me to set up an interview. After the interview, they said they'd move me to the next step and to watch my email. I checked my email, signed the documents, and now I'm waiting on the background check.

I interviewed with HR and then the team, all via Zoom. The recruiter team was based in Chicago, and I wasn't sure about their territory or the locations of cities in TN and GA. It was a decent interview, but the follow-up wasn't great in my opinion.

I applied online and about a week later got a call to set up a phone interview. The phone interview was straightforward and went well. A week later I was invited to Nashville for an in-person interview. The in-person was a panel interview. Questions were about my experience and resume. The interview was casual and I enjoyed talking to everyone and felt it would be a good fit. After a few weeks of deliberation, I got a call with a verbal offer, and the official paperwork was to come over the next few days. After about a week of silence, the hiring manager called to say the position was eliminated by senior staff, so no job after all.

Store Manager

Operations

Mid Average Neutral experience Accept offer

This was a decent company with good supervisors, provided they knew what they were doing. The stores themselves were a bit rough, but we managed to make them functional. The main challenge was how corporate kept slashing payroll hours. To stay within budget, some store managers were forced to run the entire store by themselves until noon, when a cashier could finally come in. It really impacted morale and safety, especially in smaller locations which were tougher to manage under these circumstances, though high-volume stores had it slightly easier. It takes a specific kind of person to handle it.
