The first step was a video call interview. It followed a typical structure: we introduced ourselves and reviewed the agenda. I then discussed my career trajectory and elaborated on my responsibilities in a past role before we discussed the specifics of the position. It was a positive and professional conversation, and the feedback was constructive and courteous. Although it didn't result in an offer, I found it to be a positive, transparent, and respectful process.

Went through over 10 hours of interview conversations for a leadership role - Was told the team liked me and after a full reference check was given a verbal offer that I was seriously considering. A couple days later I'm told - oops we didn't mean to make an offer for that role..there was some internal "miscommunication"..but if you'd like this other role two levels lower we'll still have you. I can only imagine the dysfunctions of a company if this is how they handle leadership level recruitment.
