Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mapbox.
Sales Executive
The whole process took about 4-6 weeks. It started with a recruiter call, then I had an on-site interview at the DC office, and then several more calls with different team members. In total, I talked to about 10 people, including the COO and CEO. It all went pretty smoothly and on time. The recruiter followed up really fast, sometimes within minutes. The interview itself was pretty standard, asking about my sales background and how I'd deal with different scenarios. Overall, it was a pretty easy interview, and they handled the process well and efficiently.

Account Executive
It was a super thorough interview process from start to finish. I had 8 interviews in total, including with C-levels, the Global VP of Sales, the VP of Sales, the first sales hire, and some engineering teams. We talked about my sales process, how I work in teams, scaling startups, growing a territory, and deals I've closed.
- Do you prioritize winning deals over losing deals, or vice versa?
- Can you walk me through your sales process?
- Could you provide examples of deals that were lost?
Sales Executive
The interview process was enjoyable and challenging. There were some product knowledge and software conversations, but it was clear from the beginning that Mapbox places a lot of value on the individual and their potential fit within the company. Tough, helpful, and professional are words that come to mind when looking back on the process.
- Can you tell me about the last three nonfiction books you've read or are currently reading?
