The interview process was pretty standard for a QA role. I got a call from the HR Director, and then they set me up with the campus staff. There were a bunch of people from different parts of the campus, and they each took turns asking me questions and writing down my answers.
- Tell me about your experience that relates to this teaching position.
Teacher
So you'll come to the job fair 30 minutes early to get your name tag, figure out where you're going, and watch a quick video about us. Then, we'll lead you to a big room where people from each school will be. You'll go to your assigned table for a 30-minute interview with a principal and someone else from the school. Make sure to bring 2 copies of your resume, dress sharp, and give us examples when you answer.
- What would an administrator observe if they entered your classroom during small group instruction?
- What is your approach to managing a student who consistently exhibits behavioral issues?
- Describe your strategies for differentiating instruction to accommodate students with exceptionalities.
Teacher
The interview was conducted by the principal, the grade level team, and instructional coaches. They asked me about my approach to guided reading and how I structure my lessons. They also posed scenario questions about dealing with parents, data-driven instruction, and managing classroom challenges.
