First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MannKind Corporation.
Desktop Support Engineer
It was a pretty standard interview process. First, there was a phone call with the recruiter, then a virtual call with the hiring manager. After that, I went onsite to meet a director, and then I was invited for another onsite to meet the rest of the team. They ghosted me for two weeks after all that before letting me know they were reorganizing the department. I just wish they figured that out before I started interviewing, especially since I drove over two hours for the last round to meet the team.
- What's your approach to prioritizing support tickets?
Clinical Operations Intern
It was a pretty easy interview, mostly behavioral questions. The interviewer was nice and then answered my questions about the company. It started with a 30-minute initial phone screen with talent acquisition, followed by a 30-minute Zoom with the hiring manager. After that, there was a set of four 30-minute interviews with team members, which were supposed to be in-person but ended up being online.
- Can you tell me about your relevant experiences?
- What would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Could you share an example of a time you faced a challenge?
Sales Representative
The hiring manager contacted me for a phone interview, but unexpectedly switched it to a video call at the start, catching me off guard. She then grilled me about my resume and even critiqued my past work. Her demeanor was unfriendly throughout. Two particularly unacceptable aspects were her inquiries about my salary history for all past roles, which is illegal in California, and her demand to present two of their products with no prior warning. This was unexpected given the initial description of a brief 30-minute resume review phone screen. The lack of any follow-up from HR, despite her assurance, was also a red flag regarding the company's practices.
- Could you share your salary history from all your previous positions?
- Please provide details on two of the company's products.
Technician
I talked to 5 people in total, ranging from director to department manager, department scheduler, department clerk, and department technician. Questions covered my technical skills, past work experiences, and education. The HR person was really knowledgeable about benefits, stocks, and vacation time. It was all done in a single day, and I heard back about the job in about a week.
- What technical abilities do you have?
- Tell me about your training.
- What school did you attend?
