UI/UX Designer
I saw the opening on Indeed and a recruiter got in touch pretty quickly to go over the standard recruiter questions. After that, I had a virtual interview with what I think was the head of engineering. It was about an hour long, mostly him explaining the job, why they needed to fill the position, and what it's like to work there. He was a pretty cool and likable guy, but he didn't ask as many questions as I anticipated. The questions he did ask seemed focused on my proficiency with tools like Figma, Adobe, and my coding abilities.
- Can you tell me about your level of experience with design and development tools such as Figma, Adobe, HTML, and CSS?
Data Analyst
Had two rounds of interviews. First was HR screening, then a chat with the Hiring Manager. They sent me an Excel file before the second interview and I had to make a report using Rstudio and PowerBI. The questions in the report were pretty simple. Then I got the offer, but they pulled it back because I'm on a student visa, even after I accepted. Great interview but bad HR.
- What are your career aspirations?
Software Developer
It was an online interview where we discussed many topics like HTTP methods, C# concepts, and .Net. The interview was simple, but they asked a lot of questions, and the manager was looking for me to make a mistake.
- Can you explain what Access Modifiers are and provide an explanation for each?
- What are the different HTTP methods?
- Could you tell me about C# concepts?
Financial Analyst
Applied for the job. Had a phone call to set up an interview. Then there was an in-person interview scheduled. But 2 hours before my scheduled interview, I got an email saying the job was already given to someone else. I was overseas burying my sibling and took the first flight back to Houston for this. So, two hours before the interview, I get an email! (Not a call) saying it’s been given to someone else. Regardless of whether or not I met the requirements, you should still interview people you schedule. How can people work for a company that doesn’t value people’s time?
- Can you describe an instance where you performed financial analysis?
