& Process

So, first I had a phone screen, and after that, I went through a full round of technical interviews with the hiring manager, one of the co-workers, and a few other people from the team. They were checking my technical skills, how I communicate, and if I'd be a good fit for the team overall.

I applied online and then a few weeks later I got scheduled for an interview. After the interview, I got a call back two weeks later. The interview process involved meeting with a group of 3 people, then a group of 2 people, and also included a statistics and math skills test. It wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be. Everyone was very friendly and seemed interested in getting to know me. I think the group interviews were designed to see how I'd work with the existing teams, rather than to intimidate me.

It took MSA about a month to reach out. Before the actual interviews, there's a challenging one-hour test. I'd suggest reviewing your Statistics I & II textbooks beforehand. Following the test, I had three separate interviews where I met with groups of two people at a time. The atmosphere was relaxed, and everyone was great to speak with. I appreciated meeting the team, though I found myself repeating some information. Typical questions included assessing my proficiency in tools like R and Excel, and discussing my ongoing research. They responded within a week, and I accepted the offer.

Applied through Indeed and after a few weeks, had a phone interview with the hiring manager. They mentioned some restructuring. Then, an in-person interview was set up. The office environment felt depressing. I met with HR about benefits, then three peers in the same role, and finally the hiring manager's boss. The hiring manager followed up for a final chat. The Sr. VP wanted a call a week later, and we had a great conversation because I touched on a topic they were struggling with. I asked to speak with sales and engineering managers since I'd only spoken with other product managers. A week later, I had calls with the sales and engineering managers. After all that, there was silence. An ex-coworker described the people as brilliant but quirky, sometimes lacking common sense.
