First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mammoth Marketing.
Marketing
The interview process had three parts. First was a quick intro chat about the company and you. Then, we met at a Costco to go over job duties, customer interaction, and have a chat with a hiring person who asked a lot of questions about me as a person/worker and fun stuff like "If you could go anywhere in the world with one person, where would it be and with who?". Lastly, back at the office, we talked about what I learned from the Costco interview, what I liked/disliked, and any questions I had. They offered me the job and I had a day to decide. The company people were nice and professional and it seems like a company with potential. I turned down the offer because it seemed more sales-focused than marketing/advertising.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself working?
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
Marketing
There were three interviews on separate days, with a callback after each. The first was a quick 15-minute preliminary call, surprisingly with many other candidates. Simple questions were asked, and the company's partnerships with Costco, King Soopers, and Sam's Club were mentioned. The second interview was described as an 'event' to see the actual work, which sounded interesting. I showed up at a Costco and met someone selling pillows at a booth. I was asked to observe her behavior and take notes, then we discussed them. She gave me sales tips and then explained the pay, which was concerning. She mentioned I wouldn't be buying a Ferrari but could pay my bills with an hourly rate of $9.30, with commission as an option. However, they work six days a week for 9-10 hours, making the hourly rate difficult to beat. It felt quite degrading, sitting in a Costco food court in business attire while people were eating. I got a callback for the third interview where the pay structure was reviewed on paper. She mentioned a lot of growth potential if you remain humble. I was offered the job but declined, feeling it was a waste of time. My college retail experience offered a better hourly base plus commission, and I can't accept less. I went to college to move beyond retail, so this job would have been a step backward. I'd rather work in a mall store than a Costco booth.
- What qualities would make you a good coworker?
Marketing
This was an easy first round interview! Scheduling was difficult due to event-based sales promotions from Tuesday to Sunday, but overall the company has a great culture and a fast-paced training program. They are set to expand the company this year and take on more top clients!
- What is your primary motivation?
- How do you think you can positively impact the company culture?
- What are your 3-5 year goals, both personally and with this company?
