So, I had like two interviews, and then they told me I made it to the final one. But then, like, nothing. They never got back to me or even replied when I messaged them. Total ghosting situation.

So my interview was like, 3 interviews total. First was like a cold call from the engineering manager, we chatted on the phone about classes I took, my past engineering experience, and just other stuff. Then I had another interview with the Team Lead for the team I might join. They showed me some basic examples of a crane and asked me to figure out which parts were under tension and which were under compression. After that, they gave me a sample drawing and asked me to read it and talk through it. And then they had me do a simple statics/materials problem. It was a simply supported beam with a force in the middle, and they wanted me to find the reactions, and then the moments, stresses, and draw diagrams. The last interview was with another team lead who had switched industries. It was a cold call, and we talked about our past experiences and how we usually handle certain situations.

The interview felt fair and was totally relevant to what the job entails. The people interviewing were professional. It was a pretty standard process overall. It took about three weeks from when they first needed someone to when they offered me the job.

The whole process took one month and had 3 rounds plus an initial intake phone call with the recruiter. The first interview was a 30-minute get-to-know-you session. Then, I had a second round at the head office with someone from the D&A team. The final round was online with management. They mainly asked about my experience and thoughts on data quality and visualization, and presented scenarios to see how I'd prioritize and handle them.
