First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Malawi Government.
Economist
The interview had two parts, a written aptitude test where most people got cut, and then an oral interview. The communication method was the main issue, it was old-fashioned, using letters that sometimes don't arrive on time, instead of phone calls.
- What makes you the right candidate for this position?
- Can you describe the duties and responsibilities of an economist?
Audiovisual Systems Engineer
You go into a panel interview with at least 8 people, and each person asks at least two questions. Some part of the interview was practical. The Parliamentary Service Commission has the final say on the result.
- How would you identify a signal loss in a multimedia conferencing system caused by a broken audio cable?
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
I applied for the M&E officer role on a project funded by a government donor. After about three months, I was invited for an oral interview that lasted for an hour.
- Could you share some challenges you've encountered in your career as a monitoring and evaluation professional and describe how you managed to resolve them?
