First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Makosi.
Senior Consultant
It was a quick interview, felt like they were just checking boxes. Didn't go into much detail and the recruiter didn't seem very interested in what I was saying. They were also late and forgot to record, so I had to repeat everything once they remembered.
- Can you describe your experience with asset management and real estate?
Assurance Manager
This was an initial interview, and I got through it. The rest of the process is really long and takes ages. The interview itself felt pretty casual, and the person interviewing me was nice and approachable. They mostly asked about my background, what I've done, and where I want to go in my career. They also told me about how things work with Makosi.
- Can you share an instance where you faced conflict at work and describe how you handled it?
Audit Manager
My job is to audit the company's financial records, statements, and reports, making sure everything is accurate and consistent. I also audit the company's information systems to ensure they comply with data security and storage rules. I review controls, policies, and procedures to see if they're effective. Then I draft and present reports about what I found and my analysis, and I suggest improvements to accounting practices and procedures. I also do other tasks as needed. I manage and review the work of junior staff and report to the Senior Partner & Financial Director.
- Will you be testing my ability to audit the company's financial records, statements, and reports, verifying accuracy and consistency?
- Will you be testing my ability to audit the company's information systems, assessing compliance with data security and storage requirements?
- Will you be testing my ability to review controls, policies, and procedures for effectiveness?
Employee Experience Associate
I initially had a really good impression of Makosi. I met with James at their office in September, and we had a great conversation. After we finished, he introduced me to a colleague. James concluded the interview and said I'd hear back in a day or two. I thought that was super quick for feedback, which made me happy because I was really interested in the job and felt qualified. I sent a follow-up email the next day thanking him and asking for feedback. Unfortunately, I never heard back from James. I tried calling him later that week and even one more time after that. Still, no response from Makosi. To me, it's really unprofessional to bring someone in for an interview and then ghost them. They obviously didn't select me, but I wish someone had just told me directly.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experiences?
- What's your availability like?
