The process was straightforward. A third party handled my application and then interviewed me. After that, they did reference checks. This all happened within about a week. It was pretty fast and not stressful, the only lengthy part was figuring out the hours and salary.

The aptitude test was super short on time, with 37 questions to be answered in just 10 minutes. The questions covered a lot of essential math concepts like pattern spotting, probability, puzzles, and combinatorics. I personally found the puzzles to be the toughest part, especially given the time limit.

I applied through Indeed for a job fair in Kenner, LA. It was a group interview with 4 other candidates. It was the best group interview I've ever been on. The interviewers actually tried to get to know me and asked follow up questions to my answers. They were up front with the position, pay, and expectations which was really nice. I left excited about the job. I didn't end up getting an offer but the interview experience left a good impression.

I went through an external recruiting firm for the interview process. The recruiter knew the role well and had placed people before. I wish I could have spoken to someone from Mako before the offer, but the rest of the process was good - efficient, professional, and comfortable. It included 3 phone screens: two with the initial recruiter and one with their superior.

  • Can you describe your lab experience, covering both academic and professional settings?
