It was a pretty long interview process, but I think COVID-19 had a lot to do with that. First, I had a phone interview with the company president, VP of manufacturing, maintenance manager, and HR manager. After that, I went in for an in-person interview. Finally, I took a personality test and a skills/placement test. Then they offered me the job, which I was super nervous about at each step because I really wanted it.

I have been with Major Tool and Machine for over six years. It is a pleasure working for this company. The company is outstanding in regards to its people, its product, and putting money back in to the company in order to stay at the cutting edge of available technologies. I have also found that the company's customer base is well rounded and diverse enough to enable us to easily weather the ups and downs of a volatile marketplace which, in turn, allows for long term employment. Major Tool and Machine has grown every year and their business plan will allow us to continue to do so.

First, there's a written test to check your math skills. Then you'll weld some test plates. After that, you'll have a chat with the fabrication manager. MTM is looking for potential, so do your best to show them you want to be one of the best. If you're already one of the best, you probably have 20 years of experience and a stable, well-paying job already. Don't act like you know it all; they want people willing to learn and do things in ways that have already been proven to work most effectively. You might get a call back after this.

The interview was at a job fair they held. I was interviewed by a few people and had to do a written and a physical welding test. It wasn't bad and the interviewers gave me good feedback and interaction.
