Technical Presentation

Applied through LinkedIn. The process was really quick, and I was invited for an onsite interview right away. It felt like a good interview, and they even showed me around the facility. There was a presentation and some technical questions. It seemed like a great place to work. I got positive feedback after the interview, but surprisingly, I didn't get an offer.

I had one tech round and then 4 rounds on-site. The on-site included a presentation about an end-to-end project I delivered. I had to talk about the obstacles and challenges I faced, and also the deployment process. I also discussed the value it added to the business, the end result, and some metrics using the STAR method.

I had four interviews and also a take home assignment to complete, which took about two months. The take home assignment was supposed to take three hours, but I actually spent twelve hours on it. It was unpaid time, and it involved creating a marketing plan for a specific segment. After I sent it in, three to four weeks went by and I didn't hear back, even after following up twice. When I finally got a response from the recruiter, they said they were still figuring out if the role would be remote or in-office, and if it would be on the sales or marketing team. They also told me not to wait around for them.

I had a recruiter call, then a manager round, followed by an onsite panel interview. During the onsite, I presented a project I worked on, and then faced back-to-back interviews with 5-6 people from the panel. It took a full day. After that, they did a reference check where the manager spoke with two of my references for about 15 minutes each, asking about my work ethic, technical skills, and personality. They then made me wait three weeks for a decision. The recruiter then called me for another interview with a different hiring manager who gave me an exam with 8 medium-difficulty questions to solve. A week later, they informed me my skills weren't sufficient and reposted the job. It seems like they weren't sure what they were looking for. A tip for them: don't ask for references and then contact them before making an offer, as candidates usually interview with multiple companies and their references can't handle random calls.
