First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MAIF.
Commercial Advisor
The process involved 4 steps. First, a test with questions mainly to assess common sense. Second, a focus on your background, motivation, and perception of MAIF. Third, a role-playing exercise with a commercial advisor. The final step is an HR meeting.
- What values resonate with you at MAIF?
Conseiller Commercial a Distance
The recruitment process is ridiculously long and is broken down into 4 stages: - psychometric test - an HR interview over the phone - a commercial simulation by video call - an on-site interview These stages could easily be combined to avoid putting so much pressure on candidates.
- How do you envision your daily life in this position?
Commercial Advisor
After applying, I had to complete a test using the Maki tool, which is designed to help companies hire better candidates. The test gives you a percentage score, but you don't know if you'll hear back. A few days later, I got an email to schedule a chat with someone from HR. This part wasn't the best experience. The call was only 15-20 minutes max. The HR person didn't have my resume so they could 'get to know me without prejudice.' Okay, maybe. But the talk time was really unbalanced. I needed to be available on a specific date to potentially start the contract because there were recruitment waves, and everyone had to start together for training. I get that, but it sounded really rigid. They briefly explained the job, the time between calls (8-12 mins MAX!), call volume, start date and location, training time, etc. They asked for my desired gross salary range, with the full package explained later. The conversation didn't allow for real discussion or active listening. I felt timed to the minute, and it was like they were robotically checking boxes. The conversation didn't make me want to work there at all.
- What is your motivation for working in the insurance sector?
Commercial Advisor
After applying, you get a message saying you've been selected. You then schedule a call with the recruiter, which lasts about twenty minutes. If that goes well, you'll have a role-play interview with a future colleague (over the phone). If you pass that, you'll have a third interview with your future manager. In my experience, the people were kind and seemed genuinely interested in me.
- Can you tell us about yourself and your background?
