Cleaner
The interview was easy to set up and attend, it was quick and to the point. They went over the job duties and asked some basic questions like your experience level and your energy levels. It was disappointing that they didn't follow up, not even to reject my application.
- Tell me about your experience.
- How are your energy levels?
Housekeeper
I sent in my application online via Indeed.com and then got an email asking me to come in and fill out a paper application. I did that and was interviewed on the spot. The application itself was pretty simple, but it was followed by a questionnaire with about 80 questions where I had to agree or disagree with statements, many of which were repetitive or asked about my views on smoking pot while working. The interviewer mostly covered the job duties, my schedule, the pay structure, and holiday expectations. The job requires cleaning a house within a specific timeframe, doing as much as possible. Pay is per house, so if you're scheduled for 2 hours at a house, you get paid for 2 hours. Tipping is not guaranteed. You also get paid $3 per trip to each house, so 3 houses means $9. Everyone reports to the office between 7:30 am and 8:00 am to collect supplies and their assignments before heading out. They mentioned not working past 5 pm, but sometimes you finish earlier if there aren't enough houses. The first 3 days are training days paid at $8/hour, then it increases to $10/hour. After 60 or 90 days, the rate goes up to $11/hour. Paid holidays start after 60 days (New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas). Paid time off, up to 2 weeks annually, begins after 90 days.
- What makes you want to clean?
- Why are you interested in working for our company?
- Do you have any questions for us?
Maid
I had my first interview over the phone and it went pretty good, so they told me to come back for another part of the hiring process. A different lady met me than the one I talked to on the phone. She asked me why I was there and went to her office. Then she came back and handed me a clipboard with a 80 question test to do in 20 minutes. She said to knock on her door when I was done. I sat in a hot hallway on a chair and took the test honestly. It turns out that was my mistake. A lot of the questions were like "I would get along better with people if I argued less" or "I love loud parties" (I don't but they want outgoing people) or "I like to work alone" (I do, but they want team players). So, this honest, hardworking, but introverted person never heard back. There was no actual interview, just a test that seemed more for retail than for a maid job.
- Have you stolen from work before, but are you past that now?
- Do you enjoy loud parties with many people you don't know?
- Do you think you would have a better relationship with people if you argued less?
Sales Director
The interview process involved a phone screen, followed by multiple in-person interviews. The entire process spanned six weeks. Unfortunately, after the final interview, I had to wait over a month for any response, and was eventually rejected. This lack of communication is highly unprofessional, and I'd advise others against applying to a company that handles candidates this way. It was a high-level management role, and I didn't even receive a basic courtesy email. Very disappointing.
- Questions about general management were asked.
