First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mahindra.
Intern
The process involved project-based and tool-based questions. If you're good with the tools, communication skills aren't that critical. There were three panelists asking domain-specific questions. Some roles aren't sponsored. The main thing is individual learning.
- Questions about Vehicle dynamics and Matlab.
Intern
It was for an Internship and then a Pre-Placement Offer if the internship went well. Started with shortlisting based on CGPA from about 100 students to 23. Next was an online test (45 mins) with aptitude (maths, vocab, reasoning) and technical parts. Technical questions were about your field and general engineering. Then 11 students moved to a telephonic HR interview where they asked common questions like 'Tell me about yourself' and probed for examples of your skills and basic industry knowledge. Finally, 7 students got a telephonic technical interview. Questions got harder and covered your discipline, metallurgy, and materials engineering (castings, forgings, properties vs microstructure). They also checked CAD, simulation skills, and previous industrial experience.
- Tell me about a recent time you were creative or innovative.
Intern
The interview was nice and professionally handled. They asked really good questions. There were two rounds. The first was a jam session, and the second was a personal interview. They asked a lot of questions to check my abilities.
