First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at MagnaFlow.
Product Development Engineer
I had a phone interview and then 2 in person interviews. After the 3rd interview, they ghosted me and I never got a rejection. It's unprofessional to ask someone to come in for multiple rounds and then not hear back. Their candidate pool is also their customer base, so why not send a quick email instead of leaving a bad impression?
- Can you explain what GD&T is and its applications?
Logistics Specialist
Met with HR and the department supervisor. They reviewed my resume and discussed my skills. Then, they explained what they're looking for in the role and confirmed my abilities matched their needs, leading to a job offer.
- Tell me about a challenging situation you faced and how you overcame it.
Graphic Artist
HR and Marketing did the first interview, which was a standard screening. The interviewers didn't know much about the position and offered little insight. The second interview was super short, less than 15 minutes, with the same marketing person and a new department head. They asked the same questions as before, and still no info on the graphic artist role. They gave me an assignment less than 24 hours before the final interview with no details. The final interview was a panel with the CMO, Art Director, and Senior Manager. I presented my work, and they finally described the position and gave a quick walkthrough of the work area. The offer was sent via email, followed by a text from HR. I sent a counter offer via email explaining my value. They then withdrew the offer. This company is run unprofessionally, focused on brand over quality parts. Only one employee seemed to have an automotive background and asked about mine. Their emails were unprofessional too. All applicants should be wary.
- Are you more of a "big picture" person, or are you detail oriented?
Accountant
I spoke with the HR Director, Controller, and CEO. It was a friendly and comfortable interview. They asked me about my previous senior accountant role at a big manufacturing company and how I would handle certain accounting tasks.
- Can you walk me through your past experience with the budgeting process?
- Tell me about your experience as a senior accountant for a large manufacturer.
- How would you go about handling specific accounting functions?
