The interview was a group setting with about 23-25 people, mostly aged 16 to 22. First, we did an 'icebreaker' where we introduced ourselves (name, age, interesting fact) and chose a quote from a Madame Tussaud's visitor, explaining our choice and its significance. Then, we were split into smaller groups for an activity where we ranked various teams (like a football team, orchestra, or a gang) on their teamwork and cooperation levels. Afterward, we reconvened as a larger group to discuss our rankings and reasoning. Finally, in another group task, we designed a 'customer service superhero' and presented it together. The interviewers were observing and taking notes throughout, so it was important to stand out!

The job advertised was customer host, a permanent role. However, during the interview, we were informed it's a 6-month contract. Many in the group assessment felt misled and upset. It seems they prefer foreign students or non-English speakers who won't complain about such treatment. The interview started late, with 20 of us in a cramped room. We were led through offices and corridors to the location, making the whole experience feel unprofessional and amateurish. I'd advise staying away from this dishonest company, as the advertised role differs from the actual position.

Group Presentation Case

We started with an assessment centre where we were welcomed by the team. We were divided into groups of about six people and given a quiz to complete while touring Tussauds, with staff observing each team. This quiz wasn't graded but was to assess teamwork. After the tour, we received information about the job's benefits and duties. We then worked in teams to design a new exhibition for Tussauds, deciding what to enhance, which scenes to include, and the main figure, aiming for creativity and broad appeal. Following our team presentations, each of us was given three items to upsell (e.g., Madame Tussauds + Star Wars + souvenir book, or Madame Tussauds + two other attractions). Staff then randomly assigned us a customer type (like a family of four or an elderly couple) and we had to sell to them, regardless of our prior knowledge, focusing on continuous selling and persuasion. We were later informed via email or phone about progressing to one-on-one interviews the next day.

Behavioral

The interview was very chill and relaxed — more like a casual conversation than a formal assessment. It felt more like a "get to know you" session, where we talked about my background, interests, and general experiences rather than technical skills or specific qualifications. The interviewer created a comfortable atmosphere, which made it easy to speak openly and honestly. There weren’t any tough or high-pressure questions; instead, it felt like they were genuinely trying to understand my personality, values, and whether I’d be a good fit for the team and company culture.
