The process kicked off with a recruiter from Naukri reaching out and asking for my updated resume. About a week later, she contacted me for a brief JD alignment call. Following that, I received a link for an aptitude test. After passing the test, I underwent two technical rounds. The first was with a senior team member, likely a lead or manager. This round was very fast-paced and I didn't feel it went well because of the pressure; it covered technical aspects of AWS, data migration, and other cloud platforms, including a question about migrating data from AWS to Azure. Surprisingly, I got a call back the next day for the second round, which was supposedly with a leadership member. I expected someone at the Director level, but it turned out to be their COO. He was composed and asked in-depth questions with follow-ups, focusing on governance, risk management, and stakeholder management. I felt confident in this round and even asked him some questions about the company's future and business outlook, which he elaborated on. As expected, I received another call back, and the recruiter wanted to schedule the HR (culture fitment) round. This round involved many behavioral questions about handling pressure, team alignment, budgets, and conflicts.

It was a 2 Round Process. First round was a cognitive assessment with 20 questions on fundamentals. If that was cleared, the HR ma'am got back with a phone screening round, asking about me, my current status (working or student), and details about the second final round, also checking and confirming dates. The second round was technical, and the interviewer was friendly. It began with introductions, followed by an in-depth explanation of my DevOps project, focusing on Terraform and CI/CD pipelines and their stages. Additional questions covered cloud, with a focus on AWS services like S3 and EC2 since I use it.

The interview process is pretty straightforward. They mainly ask questions from your resume and fundamental data engineering concepts. It's recommended to focus on one cloud platform, as questions will be tailored to that. My experience was positive, and the interview concluded within 30 minutes. If your fundamentals are strong, you'll find it quite easy.

  • Can you tell me about the data engineering projects listed on your resume?
  • What are your thoughts on medallion architecture?
