Totally unprofessional. Screening call where the recruiter told me I would move on to the next round. Then about a month of being ghosted, reaching out trying to schedule the next interview. Finally someone else calls me from a random number telling me I moved on to the next round and schedules the interview for the next day. This interview was a zoom call with two employees. I was asked questions about my work experience and how I would handle certain situations in the office. It was uncomfortable because my interviewers kept whispering things between them and giggling while I tried to maintain a professional demeanor. I asked when I could hear back and the interviewers told me 'it probably won't be months'. It felt like I was trying to fit in with a new clique and they were not so discreetly mocking me. I left the interview feeling discouraged and a few weeks later got an email saying that I was the right fit for Macquarie but they were moving on to other candidates. The whole thing felt like a massive waste of time and energy. Unfortunately I'm so desperate for work, I had to ignore the many red flags from the beginning.

Behavioral Technical Other

The interview process was a bit strange. I was selected for the Assistant Manager-functional Tester role. The first round was with an AVP who wasn't technical. Then there was a really complex psychometric test, which I'm not sure how I passed. The third round was with VPs who seemed unsure of what to ask, repeatedly asking 'why should we hire you?' and questioning why they would hire me if they already had similar QAs on their team.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

A third-party recruiter set things off for me. Then I went through a few rounds: first online with the team manager, then online psychometric testing. After that, I had a second online interview with the director, followed by an interview with the business community. An offer was made and I verbally accepted. Next, there was a background check phase with some initial hiring paperwork and disclosures about outside activities and investments. Finally, I got the formal acceptance as an employee and my start date was set. My recruiter was helpful with communications and negotiations the whole way.
