First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Macquarie Group.
Credit Analyst
It took a while to hear back after applying, but eventually I got invited to do some tests and interviews. The psychometric testing was a bit daunting, but it’s set up so you really have to trust your gut. The whole process, from applying to actually starting the job, took about three months.
- Can you share an instance where you had to prioritize your tasks?
Credit Analyst
I applied online and then had a face-to-face interview. They asked me general questions like why I wanted to work at Macquarie and also asked about my previous work experience. They also asked about being a team player, effective communication skills, and how I handle working under pressure. Both interviewers were nice and made me feel comfortable. They offered me coffee and snacks during the interview. Finally, I got an offer.
- What are your reasons for wanting to join Macquarie?
- Can you discuss your previous work experiences?
- Describe your ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Equity Research Intern
So the interview process started with a behavioral interview, then I had to complete some logic tests online, and finally there was an in-person final interview. The final interview wasn't super hard, but it did have a short case example towards the end. They mostly wanted to know why I was interested in finance and specifically for an Equity Research Intern role.
- How would you set up a hot dog stand if you were to start one?
