Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Macquarie Group.
Executive
The process had 3 levels and 2 interview rounds. It started with a panel of 2 hiring managers, followed by a meeting with the VP. Then there was a psychometric assessment. The difficulty was medium overall, and it was a quick turnaround.
- What is your understanding of the role you've applied for?
Executive
The interview process at Macquarie is quite slow. It includes 3 technical rounds, one of which is a face-to-face round, and also a psychometric assessment. There's one HR round for salary negotiation, and then they roll out the offer letter.
- Could you discuss forecasting, budgeting, and journal entries?
Executive
I applied through an agency for this executive role and made it to the final round after passing the initial technical interview and a psychometric test. I reached out to HR twice for an update, but she ignored my calls, emails, and messages, even blocking my number. When I finally got through using a different number, she yelled at me for bothering her and not being professional, claiming she was too busy for such communication. This HR's attitude is unprofessional and reflects poorly on the company. It's been a very bad experience so far.
- Questions about your previous roles and hypothetical situations concerning business combinations.
- Can you discuss a business combination case study?
