First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Macquarie Group.
Senior Analyst
Really poor process, the worst I have ever experienced. Continual delays, chasing. The three interviews took three months with little updates in between despite multiple chasers. The opportunity was good however handling / HR was terrible, genuinely couldn’t highlight any positives.

For the Analyst (Graduate) position, in the back office tech BA role: First, a psychometric test, which was long (1.5 hours) and pretty thorough, kinda tough. Then, an HR phone screen, that was easy. After that, a first round with some Juniors, they asked some light technical questions and expected you to know the subject matter. The final round was with Seniors (AD/DD), you really needed to be polished and know your stuff!

Analyst
I've interviewed here a couple of times for different roles and had some great conversations with really nice people. After the first round, Macquarie gives you a psychometric assessment. If you don't hit their arbitrary score, you're out, even if your interview was perfect. Recruiters also tend to ghost you and don't follow up, which is frustrating because job searching is already tedious, time-consuming, and stressful. Overall, I was pretty disappointed considering the firm's reputation and the positive interactions I had with the hiring teams.
