The hiring process was really easy. The receptionist and HR person were super nice and professional, making a great first impression. The office seemed like a pleasant and friendly place to work. The interview itself only took about 30 minutes, and I knew I had the job right after. But, appearances can be deceiving because once you start working there, that friendly vibe disappears!

I sent my resume and the HR head contacted me. We had a short phone interview and she liked my qualifications. She told me to expect a call from the owner. The owner called me a few days later and I went in for an interview the next week. The receptionist was great. The interview was one-on-one in a conference room. The first part was a long history of the company. Then she got to know me and I talked about my work history. She didn't ask business-related questions like budgets or metrics. I wasn't sure if she was being folksy or wasn't involved in daily operations. I left without a clear idea of the position and was told that everyone works as a team and does what's needed. I was called back for a second interview with the owner's husband. He also told the company history and then talked vaguely about the company's future and how competitors feared them. He made some strange comments about disliking unions and liberals, but I didn't react because you can't be picky in this economy. He didn't ask many questions about my experience, noting his wife liked me. The wife called me back, seemingly to offer me a job, but it was for a building tour. After the tour, we went to her office and she offered me the job. However, the pay was too low for my education and experience, so I declined.

I applied online and got a text a while later asking to set up a call, they even picked the time. On the day, they didn't call. Honestly, if they need people they should call, and if not, they should take down the 'hiring' signs.

I applied online, which was pretty straightforward, just had to upload my resume. After that, HR called me pretty quickly for a phone interview to discuss the company and the role.
