First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Mack & Associates.
Executive Assistant
I got an email from a recruiter to set up a quick phone interview. After that, we set up an in-person meeting at their Chicago office. When I got there, they had me fill out a lot of employment forms like tax and insurance stuff, even though I'd already submitted some online. Then, I met with three recruiters. We talked a lot about my resume, my past work, my career goals, and the kind of work environment I'm looking for. I was open to both direct hire and temp-to-perm roles. Unfortunately, after I left, I never heard back from them about any job openings, which was pretty disappointing since it felt like a waste of my time.
- The interview questions were all pretty standard, nothing special or memorable.
Marketing Assistant
A recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn about a Marketing Assistant role. My initial call was with this recruiter. I shared my salary expectations and mentioned that I was flexible. The recruiter mentioned that they would either move forward with me for the role or help me find another opportunity, which was a nice thought. After promising to get back to me multiple times, the recruiter eventually ghosted me. They finally resurfaced via text message to inform me that my salary expectations were too high and wished me luck. I reminded them of my flexibility, but they never responded again, nor did they offer any further assistance as previously suggested.
- What are you interested in?
- What is your desired salary range?
Recruiting Coordinator
The process was pretty straightforward. I had a quick phone chat and then they invited me for an in-person interview shortly after. After the interview, I didn't hear anything back, even though they said I'd get a response in 4 days. I tried following up with calls and emails, but got no replies at all. It felt really unprofessional, especially since they're a staffing agency.
- Basic questions about your background.
- Discussion of your resume.
- Follow-up questions about a work-related environment.
HR Coordinator
I had a really positive experience interviewing here! Everyone was very nice and friendly, and it seemed like they were genuinely passionate about their work. Although I didn't move forward after a few interview rounds, I would still highly recommend this company to others.
- What makes you want to pursue a career in recruiting?
