The whole process took about 2 months and was pretty tough. They acted like you were their top choice, but that might not have been true. Their process involves bringing 2-3 candidates to the final interview and reference check. The steps are: 1. Phone screening, 2. Interview with the hiring manager, 3. In-person interview with a panel, and 4. Reference check.

Booking interviews was tough due to the team's busy schedule. I went through 3 solid rounds, but then got an automated rejection. It was disappointing not to get any feedback, especially since I was in regular contact with the recruiter and hiring manager throughout. Left me feeling a bit sour.

Behavioral Technical Other

I applied online for the Recruiter role and heard back within a few days to do a personality assessment, which is always odd for a company to do before a candidate even talks to anyone. Then, I was contacted to do a first round screen with the hiring manager. The manager was abrasive and seemed to want to go as fast as possible through the process. There was no initial intro to them or the company or the role, just straight into questions for me. We went through 3-4 standard questions based on my experience, recruitment process, etc. The manager then proceeded to give me direct feedback and a grade on my interview skills. They abruptly said 'there's just other candidates that are stronger than you' and that they'll probably hire for another Recruiter in a few months and that if I reapply, 'I'll probably be better at interviewing then'. Very unprofessional.

So, there was this 3-person interview round-table thing, right? I met with the Building Performance Manager and the Purchasing Director. It was at their South Seattle spot, in a conference room. The whole thing lasted about an hour and was pretty formal. They said the office is business casual, but advised me to wear a suit and tie. I was told to have some background on the company ready, and to write down my strengths and weaknesses. The interviewers were taking notes on my key skills and stuff that directly matches the job. You know, the role and responsibilities.
