The process started with an application including a CV and some basic questions. Then, there were reasoning tests, specifically a logic reasoning and a personality test. This was followed by a video recorded interview where I had to answer 3 to 5 questions. Finally, there was an assessment centre which involved an interview, a case study, and a group discussion.

You start with an initial application, then an online assessment (OA). If you pass the OA, you'll get invited for a hiring event (HV) within about a week. After the HV, they'll ask for a technical interview (TI), which took me roughly 3 months to get. Following that, there was an assessment center (AC) invitation, which took less than a month. The HV and TI questions are pretty similar, mostly about your motivation (why M&G, why this division) and usual behavioral stuff (like showing excellence, teamwork). The AC has more varied questions, including some brainteasers and basic technical ones, and it's split into an individual presentation, a 2-on-1 interview, and a group task where you present your ideas. It took a long time for them to reply even after the AC. I heard there was another interview after the AC this year because it was hard to choose candidates, but I didn't get that far.

So I had two phone interviews and then an assessment center. The first phone interview was mostly about 'why M&G, why investment management over investment banking?' and then some estimation question like 'how many UK cars are sold annually?'. The second phone interview was pretty similar, just one estimation question, asked me to discuss three finance articles and some other similar stuff. Then, the assessment center in London involved an individual presentation on any finance topic, with 30 mins prep and 10 mins presentation to managers. After that, I had a chill interview with a fund manager, where some random questions like 'China-US relations?' and '3 key societal values?' came up. Lastly, there was a face-to-face with another manager who asked more about technical stuff and financial statements.
