First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Luth Research.
Technical Project Manager
Submitted my resume via e-mail after seeing the ad on Craigslist. Was given a form and an assessment test to take, so I took them. About a week later, I received an e-mail saying that I didn't get the position, so I e-mailed HR asking what I could learn from to improve for future interviews, and was told I received the e-mail in error. Had a phone interview, and was told the position was on hold. Then another phone interview, turns out the supervisor of the position liked how I did on the assessment and convinced them to take the position off hold. Then came in person and interviewed for 45 minutes, each, with the supervisor of the position, HR, and the owner of the company. Had another phone interview. Then got an e-mail to take a personality and English/Arithmetic assessment. Sent e-mails to my three references, and told them to check e-mail and send back their assessment. Annnnnnd not given the job. I was told the basic "although you were a well-qualified candidate we have found others that more closely match our needs" etc. etc. etc. Asked for specifics and got a repeat of the above.
- Tell me about yourself
- What are your technical skills?

Research Analyst
So, first I got this questionnaire thing in an email. Then there was a call with a recruiter. After that, I had an in-person meeting with the HR manager, and then a phone chat with my potential boss. Pretty standard stuff. A couple days later, Luth offered me the job. They sent the offer letter and a summary of benefits by email.
- Can you tell me about your past research experience?
Online Department
They will call you out of the blue and say they want to ask you a couple questions but it turns into an hour interview. Then you will have a phone interview with the owner and she will ask you inappropriate questions. Then your final interview will be in person with the HR manager, owner, and manager of your department. All of this takes months.
- Do you have a good work life balance?
Market Research Associate
So first, they called the office. Then, I had to do an interview over the phone. After that, I went to their office downtown to fill out an application and give it to the front desk. Then I waited in the lobby for the last part, which was a practice phone call where I had to read from a script.
- What's your typing speed?
- Do you have any customer service experience?
