First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Lunds & Byerlys.
Accounting Specialist
I had an initial call with a recruiter, then I went onsite for a panel interview with four people: one from talent acquisition, a senior accounting manager, and an accounting supervisor. They wanted to see how I handled myself and if I was a good cultural fit, plus check out my past performance.
- Can you tell me about a time when you faced a specific situation?
- Could you provide an example of when you did something?
Sales Associate
It was relaxed and quick. It was a typical one on one interview held at the location I applied at. It was just one interview and I found out if I got the job or not on the spot. The interview process took around 20 minutes and asked basic situational questions.
- Tell me about a time you had to multitask.
Store Staff Member
I did a video interview and then an in-person one. I met some people at the store, but they sent me a generic email saying I didn't get the job. It seems like they're hiring but they actually promote from within.
- Can you tell us why you're interested in working with L & B?
Deli Clerk
It was pretty much what you'd expect. The first time I was hired, I was only 18 and got the job right away. I only worked there for a few months before leaving for college. When I got back from college, I called to see if I could come back to work. They didn't need anyone at the location I started at, but the assistant manager went out of his way to check if I was needed at a different location. Luckily, I was, and they rehired me right away. I'm really, really thankful for that.
- Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
- What's your availability like?
