The interview process was really straightforward. They basically asked me if I could swim and how good I was at it. I demonstrated my ability, and now they're going to train me on the specific techniques they use. It felt like they were genuinely assessing my skills and experience, not just trying to fill a position.

The interview process was pretty standard. It started with a recruiter reaching out via email for an initial phone screen. After that, I spoke with the head of the marketing department. The head of the department came across as quite cold during our call and didn't seem very engaged. This was followed by a content assignment that was due within 48 hours. They provided constructive feedback on the assignment, which was appreciated. In my opinion, the interviewers could adopt a more engaging tone. I got the impression they weren't particularly interested in moving forward with me.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process was quite disorganized. I had an initial phone call with HR that wasn't very helpful. Then, the recruiter forgot to send me the interview details until I prompted them. The interview was initially canceled and rescheduled the day before, even though they knew I was traveling from out of town and had already made arrangements. When I arrived for the in-person interview, the recruiter wasn't there to greet me as promised, so I had to ask a random employee for assistance. Both interviewers were pleasant and professional until they asked about other companies I was interviewing with. They almost had to postpone the interview again, even after I was already there, because one of the interviewers was in a meeting.

I had a 45-minute interview with the hiring manager. They spent most of the time talking about themselves and the company. In the little time I had to speak at the end, they didn't ask any behavioral or background questions for me to share my experience or skills for the role. Most of the questions were about detailed aspects of a previous company's operations, how their products worked, and their organizational structure. This wasn't a technical/product role, and the questions didn't relate to Lumistry's business or the position I was interviewing for. It was disappointing because I was excited about the chance.
