First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ludwig Cancer Research.
Research Staff
I had 2 interviews total, the first was a phone call where I talked about my past work, skills, and aspirations. The second interview was in person with the PI, and we went deeper into how my skills align with the role and what I'd expect on the job. The interviews were pretty straightforward and organized.
- Given a stock solution of _____ concentration, how would you prepare a 1L solution of _____?
Postdoctoral Researcher
The interview process for the Postdoctoral position at the Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research Ltd, San Diego Branch, involves multiple stages. This branch, located at UC San Diego and affiliated with the UC San Diego Medical School and the Moore UC San Diego Cancer Center, is led by Webster Cavenee, PhD. The research groups primarily focus on cancer genetics, cell signaling, gene regulation, and the mechanisms of cell division, with notable achievements in genome integrity and cancer development. The interview will likely assess your fit with these research areas.
- What are your plans for after your postdoctoral position?
- What is your long-term vision for your career after completing your postdoctoral work?
Intern
The interview process was pretty relaxed. I spoke with the vice director and a project manager. It felt like my resume made a stronger impression than my in-person responses.
- Could you share what previous experiences have led you to apply for this role?
